How to Cook Chicken Korma

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into small cubes

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger

  • 2 tomatoes, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup ground almonds

  • 1 tablespoon garam masala

  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions:

1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Add onion and sauté until softened and lightly browned, about 5 minutes.

3.Add garlic and ginger to the skillet and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

4.Add garam masala, coriander, cumin, turmeric, and cayenne pepper to the skillet and stir to combine with the onion mixture.

5.Add chicken cubes to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes until browned on all sides.

6.Add chopped tomatoes to the skillet and cook for another 5-6 minutes until softened.

7.In a small bowl, mix the Greek yogurt with heavy cream. Add this mixture to the skillet and stir to combine with the chicken and spice mixture.

8.Reduce heat to low and cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for 15-20 minutes until chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.

9.Season with salt and pepper to taste and garnish with chopped cilantro (if using).

10.Serve with rice or naan bread.
